Fourteen scouts from the 15th Romsey (North Baddesley) Scout Group embarked on an offshore sailing adventure.

This was made possible with the support of the Dacia Outdoor Adventure Fund.

The fund helps young adventurers by providing financial support for activities with significant benefits.

The scouts set sail for a weekend on the 68-foot vessel, SY Rona II, operated by the Rona Sailing Project.

They took responsibility for various tasks, including hoisting the mainsail, navigating, maintaining the engine and cooking, all of which pushed them out of their comfort zones.

"We want to say a massive thank you to Dacia for making this possible for 15th Romsey Scouts."

The funding was important, as many families in the troop would not have been able to provide such an opportunity for their children.

The experience allowed the young people to build confidence, develop essential life skills and strengthen their teamwork.

Mr Bannister added that the scouts were already looking forward to their next challenge, which they now have the confidence to tackle.
