M27 traffic easing in places
Traffic heading eastbound is easing in places, as shown by the amber patches on the Google Maps screenshot below. Areas in red are the worst affected.

Traffic heading northbound on the M271 has now cleared.
Delays on the M27 heading eastbound between Junction 2 and 7 have now reduced down to 16 minutes.
Normal traffic conditions on the M271 are set to return between 5.45pm and 6pm, according to National Highways' interactive traffic map.
The M271 is still facing 12 minute congestions on the northbound carriageway.
Delays on the M27 eastbound between Junction 2 and 7 are very slowly starting to ease.
Google Maps reports that the delays have decreased from 20 minutes to 18 minutes. An average speed of 20mph has been reported by AA Traffic Map, midway through the final rush hour of the February half-term holidays.
Camera shows queues still present
A National Highways' traffic camera positioned at Junction 4 shows that eastbound traffic is still queued up, as delays remain around the 20-minute mark at the turn of the hour.

The M271's northbound carriageway is also still facing 12 minute delays.
