Southampton bus operator Bluestar has warned commuters that stops will be suspended on eight popular services next week as works are carried out.
Stops in both directions on the 4, 7, 17, 18 and 19 routes will be closed between February 24 and 28, as works on Sir Georges Road and Shirley Road will make it 'unsafe' for buses to pull up due to temporary traffic lights.
Bluestar says that there is 'not a safe location heading towards the city for a temporary stop' but that an interim stop heading towards Shirley will be put in place.
This suspension will be in place 24/7 between February 24 and 28.

Elsewhere in Southampton, the south-west bound stop on Britannia Road will be closed February 25 and 26 between 9.30am and 3.30am.
This is due to works on a bus shelter and will impact the 3, 14, 16 and 18 routes.
Outside of those hours, passengers will be able to board the bus at a temporary stop which Bluestar says will be located nearby.
The bus operator apologises 'for any inconvenience' caused by the stops being out of action.
