Hampshire has a huge swathe of quality pubs for people to choose from, but which are considered the best for some 'proper' food?
Whether you're looking for some staples like fish and chips, Sunday roast or pie and mash you want to pick a decent option.
Therefore, we thought it might be best to ask Daily Echo readers for their recommendations.
We put out a Facebook post asking the question and here are the responses we received.
Best pubs for 'proper' food in Hampshire according to readers
More than 100 comments were left on the Facebook post, and a few establishments received multiple recommendations.
The Cleveland Bay over in Chandler's Ford was one of those, with a few people praising it.
One person wrote: "The Cleveland Bay in chandlers ford....great food and good value along with brilliant service".
Another simply said: "Highly recommend The Cleveland Bay".
Visitors seem to agree with those sentiments, as it has earned a 4/5 score on Tripadvisor from 283 reviews.
Meanwhile, the Crown and Anchor in Winchester had a couple of people in its corner, with plenty of commendation for its "great food, great staff… [and] good portions!!"
That's also been generally well-received by customers, earning a 4.5/5 score on Tripadvisor from 532 reviews.
Undoubtedly the most recommended spot was The Red Lion in Southampton, with it getting 13 separate mentions at the time of writing.
Responding to another reader suggesting it, one person wrote: "Agreed, the same Steak & ale pie not changed and falls apart in your mouth. Lovely cuts of beef steak".
Another said they offered a "fab roast dinner" while another highlighted their pork chops.
Like the other pubs mentioned it had got a decent score on Tripadvisor, with a 4/5 rating from 400 reviews.

Other pubs which were included multiple times included The Rising Sun in Colden Common, The Ship Inn in Southampton, The Phoenix Inn in Twyford and The Hop Inn in Southampton.
Quite a few places got just one recommendation from a reader, but their praises were still sung highly.
For example, one person said they'd "never had a bad meal" at The White Horse in Ampfield and described the food as "amazing".
Another person went to bat for the Green Dragon in Brook saying they provided the "best pub food I’ve ever eaten".
They continued: "The quality is outstanding. I swear I didn’t know vegetables were meant to taste that good."
