A popular supermarket is not in any danger of closing despite the land it is on being sold for millions, the Echo can confirm.

Land at the top of Hill Lane which is currently occupied by a Sainsbury's Local store has hit the market with estate agents Green & Partners LLP, with offers over £2.5 million being considered.

The site is highly visible and accessible for both residents and commuters, being located just 2.5 miles from Southampton City Centre.
