A new business has been given a £750 boost from the council.

Braishfield resident Paul Boshier was awarded a £750 Business Incentive Grant by Test Valley Borough Council to set up Eco Assessment Solutions.

The grant supported Mr Boshier in establishing his company last year, which offers domestic energy performance certificates and retrofit assessment services.

These help homeowners understand their energy consumption and identify ways to improve energy efficiency.

Mr Boshier has spent his career in the construction industry, holding various roles.

He identified the growing demand for energy and retrofit assessors and, with his background in construction, decided to set up a company to provide this service.

He has undertaken specialist training for his new business.

Ampfield and Braishfield ward councillor Sally Yalden said: "We are delighted to support this new venture with a Business Incentive Grant.

"We look forward to seeing Paul’s business thrive and contribute to the local economy."

Mr Boshier said: "I am really grateful for this grant to help get my new business off the ground.

"My goal is to grow the business over the next few years and eventually pass it on to my son."
