Bluestar has now stopped updating its X account and has introduced a new personalised way of telling passengers about disruptions.
The bus operator used to post frequent travel alerts on the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
But as of February 15, Bluestar has said goodbye to X in favour of a new ‘Travel Alerts’ feature on its mobile app.
Users can favourite their frequently used bus routes, and will then be informed of disruptions via a push notification.

Alerts will not be sent for every single route – just the ones users have selected.
A post on the Bluestar website said: “This new feature will notify you if there are any new disruptions that affect routes and stops that you have favourited in our app, plus any network wide announcements. These come straight from our app to your phone as a push notification.
“You won’t get travel alert notifications for every single route, just ones that you have favourited. For example, if you have Bluestar 1 favourited, you won’t get notifications that affect any other routes, just the Bluestar 1.
“This way, you will only receive notifications that are relevant to you.”
