Five popular Wetherspoons pubs in Southampton have been ranked based on reviews left by customers.
Southampton is home to five well known Wetherspoon boozers and below each has been ranked based on Trip Advisor and Google Reviews.
The list below ranks each pub, from based to worst, based on customer experiences.
1 – The Red Lion
The red Lion in Bitterne (Image: NQ) Taking the top spot is The Red Lion in Bitterne precinct which is also rated four stars – making it the highest rated Spoons in the city.
“Fantastic place for afternoon meal and pint. Food arrived on time. It’s an old building with a traditional English pub climate” said one visitor to the pub.
2 – The Standing Order
The Standing Order on High Street (Image: NQ) Located on High Street, this popular watering hole has a Trip Advisor and Google review score of 3.75 out of five stars.
One pub-goer said: “It was a very lively pub, full of locals people eating Sunday lunch. One of the most affordable choices on High Street, and the low prices probably attracted the crowd.
“Our typical pub lunch was fine, the atmosphere was authentic.”
3 – The Wagon Works
Wagon Works on Leigh Road (Image: NQ) Immediately outside of Eastleigh Train Station is this boozer which has a ranking of 3.7 stars.
One review said: “Found myself here for a few hours while the motorbike was being serviced nearby.
“From 9.30am through the morning it's wonderfully busy. Reminded me of an old pub or inn from many, many years ago.
“Families having breakfast, night workers having a beer, just a great atmosphere.”
4 – The Brightwater Inn
The Brightwater Inn on Shirley Road (Image: NQ) Found on Shirley Road, the Brightwater Inn is tied for last place with a rating of 3.45 stars.
One reviewer, who only gave the pub a one star, said: “Absolutely disgusting.
“A group of us regularly visit this pub for lunch and drinks. It has slowly been deteriorating, poor food, poor service.
“Last week we all ordered fish and chips, when it arrived it was cold.”
5 – The Giddy Bridge
The Giddy Bridge on London Road (Image: NQ) A popular spot for those taking to the clubs on Winchester Street, the Giddy Bridge also has a rating of 3.45 stars.
“It’s a typical ‘spoons. The toilet has the aroma of, well, a Wetherspoons toilet.
“There are lots of local pubs that are a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for” said one attendee who only rated it one star.
