Ringwood Dental has received a mixed assessment following an inspection.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) conducted an on-site assessment on January 8, and published its report on February 7.
The practice met regulations in four areas: safe, effective, caring, and responsive.
However, it did not meet all regulations in the well-led category.
The report noted that patients were treated with dignity and respect, and they could access care when needed. Complaints were handled positively and efficiently.
Despite these strengths, the assessment highlighted a lack of effective leadership.
The report stated that "not all risks associated with undertaking of regulated activities had been suitably identified and mitigated."
The practice offers NHS and private dental care for adults and children and has step-free access and parking for disabled people.
During the assessment, feedback from 17 patients was collected.
Most patients expressed satisfaction with their care, commenting on cleanliness and appointment availability.
However, three patients were unsure how to complain, and five did not know how to access emergency dental treatment when the practice was closed.
The CQC has requested an action plan from the provider to address these concerns.
