AN INQUEST has opened into the death of a man whose body was pulled from the water at the end of January.
Eugen Vesely, 56, of Lupin Road, was found floating on the waterfront near the Vantage Tower early on January 31, an inquest heard.
The inquest into Mr Vesely's death was opened at Winchester Coroners' Court on Tuesday, February 11 by area coroner Rosamund Rhodes-Kemp.

Mrs Rhodes-Kemp said that police attended reports of a body in the water near the Vantage Hotel at approximately 9am on January 31.
Mr Vesely's body was pulled from the water and he was identified. However, there were no life-saving opportunities.
The preliminary cause of death has been given as multiple internal injuries.
The full inquest has been adjourned to take place at Winchester Coroners' Court on January 5, next year.
An inquest opened last week on a young man who fell from the Itchen Bridge later on the same day.
Idryck Relius Wilkinson, 22, of Morland Road, Croydon, south London was pronounced dead at Thrifty Car and Van Hire on Floating Bridge Road, the hearing in Winchester was told.
A post-mortem by pathologist Dr Sanjay Jogai said his cause of death was a head injury.
