An oak tree has been uprooted and blocked a pathway at Riverside Park.
It’s believed the tree fell across the road in the early hours of the morning, blocking pedestrian access from Cobden Bridge into Riverside Park.
A photo taken from Daily Echo Camera Club member, John Scamell, shows the extent of the damage with passers-by stopping to take photos of the scene.

In a Facebook post, John said: “I heard a crack at about 2am this morning.
“I saw what the noise was in daylight, it was a fallen tree at Riverside Park.”
In a statement, a spokesperson for Southampton City Council said: "The council is aware of the fallen tree, and our tree surgery team are clearing this today.”
