The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court:
BRIAN STUART, 50, of Lindoe Close, Southampton pleaded guilty to attempted theft from a shop after he tried to steal alcohol, cat food, and chocolate worth £208.40 from Sainsbury’s on January 3. He was handed a two-month prison sentence suspended for 15 months. He must complete a 15-month mental health treatment.
CHERYL WEAVERS, 35, of Ridding Close, Southampton, admitted two counts of theft from a shop after she stole items worth £14.50 from Iceland on October 26, 2024, and items worth £90.99 from Boots on December 23, 2024. She also admitted theft by finding after she stole between £80 and £100 from Bluestar buses on December 24, 2024.
JAKE HUGHES, 34, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to stealing skincare items worth £400 from TK Maxx in Andover, and breaching a criminal behaviour order which precented him from entering the store, both on January 13. He also admitted possessing cannabis in Basingstoke on January 31, stealing two bottles of alcohol from Tesco in Basingstoke on November 18, 2024, and breaching a criminal behaviour order by entering the Tesco store on that date.
Hughes also pleaded guilty to theft after he stole alcohol worth £68.50 from Asda in Basingstoke on November 18, 2024. He will be sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on February 28.

MONTAGUE SMITH, 39, of Wilverley Place, Blackfield, admitted two counts of criminal damage after he damaged a police van and police cell in Basingstoke on January 30. He will next appear before Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on March 11.
DEAN MITCHELL, 22, of Cyneiniog, Ceredigion, pleaded guilty to assault by beating after he assaulted a woman in Alton on January 29. He was due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court on February 4.
