We're a fan of Costa in our office.
With a shop just below us on Bond Street, it is regularly frequented by our team, who are as thirsty for a latte as they are for news, it turns out.
The chain has recently launched a Spanish variation, so we thought we would try it out.
It is described on the Costa website as offering "a sweeter, more velvety way to enjoy your everyday latte, inspired by the traditional Spanish Bombón café".
The Spanish latte (Image: Costa Coffee) It combines a creamy condensed milk-flavoured sauce with rich espresso and is finished with a dusting of cappuccino powder.
It certainly lived up to its description, offering a subtle spiciness as well which felt like a way of weaning us off the seasonal variants which become so popular in the run-up to Christmas.
It went down particularly well with reporters Annabel and Charles.
Annabel said: "If you find coffee a little too bitter usually but syrups too sickly, this Spanish latte is the perfect balance.
"Smooth and creamy, it goes down a treat."
Self-confessed latte fiend Charles was ready to heap it with praise.
He said: "If you’re a fan of sweet, milky coffee, this is the one for you.
"The silky smooth sweetness of the condensed milk comes to the fore, and the end result is probably closer to a luxurious hot chocolate than an Americano."
This is one of several new additions to Costa's menu, and the only new drink.

To accompany my coffee, I tried the all-day breakfast toastie.
Served with ketchup, the trinity of egg, bacon and sausage were all present, and the sarnie was topped with cheese, which - let's face it - is a winner in any form.
While I thought the price tag was fairly steep at over £5, and the bacon could have been a little crispier, it still made for a filling snack.
Served with a smile by the lovely team, we'll be sure to be back very soon to order more.
