A care home resident has celebrated his 100th birthday.
The centenarian, Claude Brendon Cooke, known as Brendon, marked the milestone on Monday, January 27 at Rownhams Manor, part of Oyster Care Homes.
The celebrations included a restaurant gathering, a special "100" birthday cake and tributes from King Charles and the President of Ireland.
Brendon, who was born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, in a small wooden house, spent many years working on ships, which shaped his love for seafaring and shipping.
