Liz Jarvis has stepped down as a councillor to ensure she is 'best serving Eastleigh' following her election to Parliament.
The Liberal Democrat has retired from Eastleigh Borough Council so she can be the 'best MP' that her constituents deserve.
It comes after being elected to Westminster during last year's General Election on July 4.
She said: "Following my election as MP for Eastleigh, I have been hard at work representing my constituents in Westminster.

"From fighting to protect our local NHS services to opposing cuts to the Winter Fuel Allowance, holding Southern Water to account, and championing all the issues that matter to residents, I am working hard to be the best MP that my constituents deserve.
"To ensure I am best serving Eastleigh as our MP, I have stepped down as a borough councillor.
"I would like to thank everyone at Eastleigh Borough Council and the residents of Hamble and Netley for their support over the past three years."
