Central Hall’s story began in 1925 with Joseph Rank, a visionary who saw the potential for a space to serve the growing working-class community of inner city Southampton.

From the start, this was more than just a place for church services—it became a lifeline for the city’s people. The hall quickly became a vital community hub, providing everything from legal advice clinics and sick nursing services to free meals during tough times.

Over the years, it has hosted countless events, from orchestra recitals to film screenings, and from public lectures to children’s classes.

Today, that legacy continues at the iconic venue, which has been owned by New Community Church for the past 50 years and is run by New Community Ventures (NCV).

The profits from every event help fund essential charitable programs that support those who need it most. From free meals provided every Sunday to creative learning programs and youth services, Central Hall is helping build a better community with every ticket sold.

It boasts flexible event spaces and modern facilities, the perfect venue for anything from intimate gatherings to large conferences.
