Pictures have now emerged of damage from the high winds caused by Storm Éowyn.

Media outlets are also reporting that work at the city's container terminal has also been stopped.
DP World said shipside operations had been suspended since 1.30am and landside operations have been suspended since 4.15am.
Trains from Southampton Central to Weymouth are also being revised according to South Western Rail.

South Western Railway has said that due to high wind speeds services were running at a reduced speed between Totton and Weymouth.

A bit more disruption today as Bluestar says: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the 6.15am Bluestar 4 from Southampton to Romsey has been cancelled.
“We apologise for any disruption this may cause.
“The following service is running on time 6.40am from Vincents Walk.”
There’s a yellow weather warning in place for much of today.
The Met Office says: “Storm Éowyn is expected to bring very strong winds and some disruption on Friday.”
Ireland and Northern Ireland have been hit with a red warning over the storm, with schools closed.

Parents can be reassured - Southampton City Council and Hampshire County Council have not publicised any school closures.
Cruise ship MSC Preziosa - which can carry up to 4,300 passengers - has come into Southampton at Horizon Cruise Terminal in the last few minutes in the poor conditions.
Red Funnel’s vessels Red Osprey, Red Eagle, Red Jet 7 and Red Jet 6 are all moored at Southampton.
Weather watchers discussing the strong winds viewing webcams looking over Town Quay have described the conditions as “wild”.

This includes the 6.05am, 6.40am and 7.15am Red Jet services to West Cowes, and the 6am service to East Cowes from Town Quay.
A service update said: “Suspended between Southampton and East Cowes until further notice due to Storm Eowyn.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused to your journey.”
