A ‘severe' tornado warning has been issued for the South of England as Storm Eowyn bears down on the UK.
Storm research organisation, the European Storm Forecast Experiment (Estofex), has issued a statement today ahead of Friday’s storm – which has seen a yellow weather warning issued in Hampshire.
This comes as Storm Eowyn is set to bring heavy wind and rain to the UK, with Southampton set to see winds of more than 60 miles per hour.

A level two ‘severe' warning was issued for the South mainly for severe wind gusts with a few tornado events possible.
It began at 6am on Thursday and lasts until 6am on Friday.
Estofex has said that a strong event cannot be ruled out.
A spokesperson added: “Given rapid translation of thunderstorms, any tornado could be long-tracked and even a strong event cannot be ruled out.
“The main tornado risk seems to evolve along and South of a Bristol-London line.”
