A homeowner has won a planning appeal after being refused permission to raise the height of her boundary wall.
The appeal, involving a property on Roman Road, Southampton, was made against Southampton City Council's decision.
The council originally denied the application on February 7, 2024, after it was submitted in December 2023.
The appeal decision, made on August 7, grants the homeowner permission to increase the height of her wall.
The planning inspectorate found the wall was in line with the area’s varied character and did not adversely impact the surroundings.
The wall, which had replaced previous hedging and trees, was found to provide a suitable level of privacy and was similar in height to other boundary features nearby.
Concerns over the wall's safety and impact on road users were dismissed.
The wall’s completion, including the installation of coping stones, must occur within three months of the decision date.
