The owner of a tea shop in Romsey has revealed all after appearing on Deal or No Deal and winning more than £10,000.

Jackie Clemo, 63, took on the show's banker during episode 47 of the second series of the rebooted Deal Or No Deal, presented by Stephen Mulhern.

The grandmother has run the popular That Little Tea Shop on The Hundred in Romsey with her family since November 2004.

Jackie said: “The experience was just amazing.

“Walking onto that set you see on television was so strange – I thought to myself, what am I doing here?

“All of my fellow contestants were so lovely and we all stayed in the same hotel so you get to know each other really quickly.

“When watching the show I always thought, how can all the contestants be such good friends?

"But filming for 12 hours a day and living in the same hotel you get really close with people.”

The show is produced in Maidstone, Kent, and three episodes of the show are filmed every day with Jackie taking part in a total of five weeks filming.

She added: “Filming for 12 hours a day could get exhausting, but it was all well worth it for such an amazing experience.

“The very first time I appeared in an episode, a lovely man called Jack had £100,000 and £25,000 left on the board.

“He was convinced he had £100,000 in his box and even turned down an offer of £62,000.

“I was the only one left and sadly I had the jackpot in my box rather than his – It wasn’t the best start as I really wanted him to get the £100,000.

“Stephen Mulhern was so lovely as well.”

It was only by chance that Jackie ended up on the show after her granddaughter sent her a link to apply as a contestant on the show after she previously told her "I wouldn’t mind giving it a go".

“It was amazing to win £10,220 but I only ever did it for my granddaughter – it wasn’t about the money.

“But we are now looking forward to a family trip to Las Vegas and we are really excited.”

Two years ago Jackie and her family planned to go to Vegas but she was struck by illness and was unable to go.

The family are now going to use Jackie's winnings to go on their dream holiday.
