A motorist who caused a serious accident in Southampton city centre has been spared an immediate jail term.
Southampton Crown Court heard that a pedestrian was crossing Western Esplanade on January 19 2024 when they were hit by a vehicle.
Mohamed Conde, 48, of Brownhill Road in North Baddesley, admitted causing serious injury by careless driving.
He was handed a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
He was also banned from driving for 12 months and told to complete 250 hours of unpaid work.
