Suella Braverman has flown to Washington DC to watch Donald Trump’s inauguration tomorrow.

The Fareham MP and former home secretary landed in the state sporting a ‘Make American Great Again Cap’ (MAGA), as filmed by Channel 4 News, on Sunday.

She was accompanied by right-wing commentator and former actor Laurence Fox on arrival as the pair pushed their luggage through the arrivals area.

When it was pointed out that Fox was there too, Braverman said: “We happened to be on the same flight.”

Ms Braverman was asked by Channel 4 News if she had received a personal, direct invitation from Trump himself.

Ms Braverman did not comment when pushed on whether she received a direct invitation from Mr Trump, but said, "I'm very much looking forward to attending the rally tomorrow."

She has always been outspoken in her support for Trump, and told LBC in November of last year there are “many lessons” the Conservatives can take from his “stunning” election victory.

Speaking to Lewis Goodall, she said: “Donald Trump unapologetically and boldly campaigned on providing tangible solutions to those crises facing American households around the country.

"There are key lessons that we can learn, and one of those is that so that we need to be answering the challenges facing the British people at the next election."

Ms Braverman retained her seat as MP for Fareham and Waterlooville in the July 2024 elections, with a majority of 17,561 votes.

She promised voters on the night she “will do everything in my power to rebuild”.

Former Tory prime minister of 44 days Liz Truss is also in Washington, and posted a picture of herself in a MAGA hat on social media platform X.

She said: “The new Donald Trump term can’t come soon enough. The West needs it.”

Nigel Farage, MP for Clacton and Reform UK leader, has also made another journey to the States ahead of Trump’s inauguration.
