A planning application has been submitted to Eastleigh Borough Council for a new 70-bed care home.
If approved, the home would be built on land east of Chickenhall Lane in Eastleigh and managed by Hartford Care.
The new L-shaped building would have four floors and consist of bedrooms, day spaces, staff areas and stores.
A car park has also been included in the plan with 24 spaces and access would be provided via the existing site entry point off Chickenhall Lane.

The site is located on the eastern edge of Eastleigh, just a 500m walk to Eastleigh town centre.
However, the application has been met with an objection.
Eastleigh resident, Stuart Mackintosh, said: “How many more care homes do we need in Eastleigh when there are not enough carers to provide care?
“We desperately need cheap accommodation for young people otherwise Eastleigh will just wither and die.”
