Newly improved cycling and walking routes in the Waterside area are now open, providing easier local journeys.
The links between Eling and Holbury have been upgraded with road crossings, widened paths, and better signs.
Councillor Kirsty North, Hampshire County Council’s cabinet member for universal services, said: "Our goal is to make cycling and walking easier and safer, making it a viable option for local journeys.
"Active travel not only benefits our physical and mental health but also positively impacts the environment by improving air quality and reducing carbon emissions. A big thank you to pupils from Noadswood School in Dibden Purlieu for trying out their local section of cycle path and giving it top marks."
These paths connect various areas including Southampton, Totton, Marchwood, Hythe, and Holbury, also linking to the Southampton City Council Cycle Network (SCN) route 1.
The upgrades are intended to benefit local residents, workers, and travellers, enhancing connectivity within the area.
