Solent University is leading the way in reducing carbon emissions.

The university has topped the carbon reduction category in the latest People & Planet University League.

The results for the 2024/25 academic year show Solent climbing 25 places overall in the league, which ranks universities on waste management, energy sources, and education, among other areas.

As well as topping the table for carbon reduction, which highlights its efforts to improve energy efficiency and cut down on water and energy waste, the university is now in the top half of universities for its overall environmental sustainability performance.

Solent's director of estates and facilities, Bryan Carroll, said: "Climbing 25 places in the overall table and being ranked number one across all UK universities for carbon reduction is an excellent result for all the hard work and commitment of the teams to reduce Solent's environmental impact."
