A pensioner has admitted making indecent images of children during a court appearance.

Michael Hudson, 76, pleaded guilty to making six indecent images.

Southampton Crown Court heard how three of those were category C, while three were category B. The offences occurred on August 12, 2022.

He also admitted to messaging someone online who he believed to be a girl under the age of 16 between October 2021 and June 2022, which was in breach of his sexual harm prevention order.

Hudson, of Bailey Close, Botley, pleaded guilty to two counts of making indecent images of children, and one count of breaching a sexual harm prevention order.

He will appear before the same court on March 17 to be sentenced.

The maximum sentence for category B photographs is 18 months’ custody.

For possession of category C images, the maximum sentence is 26 weeks’ custody.
