A family-run fish and chip shop in Hedge End has been awarded a Gold Seal after winning a Good Food Award three years in a row.

J-Henrys Fish & Chips on Upper Northam Road in Hedge End is the only chippy in the city that currently holds the prestigious accolade of the Gold Seal.

The shop was awarded a Good Food Award in 2022, 2023 and in 2024 - allowing it to now to be awarded the Gold Seal.

Owned by the Lee family, the chip shop has been praised by the Good Food Awards for its outstanding reviews, customer service and, of course, its fish and chips.

Manager Sonny Lee said that he and the staff were 'over the moon' with the latest results and that the J-Henry's team will always strive for excellence.

"It just shows that hard work, dedication and determination really does pay off.

"The Good Food Award is only achieved for good food, great service, and consistently great reviews.

"We are up to the National Fish and Chip Awards 2025 next month for a Digital Marketing Award - hopefully we can bring home the gold for that award as well."
