It's the 5,000 sq ft state-of-the-art gym at the mouth of the River Hamble set to help even more members achieve their fitness goals with a boost in online training in 2025.

Pinnacle Performance, at Hamble Point Marina, has such a good community that  when it flooded last April there were 50 to 100 members on site each day helping with the clear up operation.

Founder and owner Andy McGhee used to take on crazy challenges - things like ten back-to-back ultra duathlons of a 100 mile bike ride and a marathon every day from Morocco to Southampton and seven barefoot marathons around Britain in seven days - to promote the gym and raise thousands for charity.

But these days he's busy racing for the Great Britain Age Group Team all over the world in duathlon and working for triathlon legends the Brownlee brothers.

Home to a healthy membership of experienced sportspeople, aspiring athletes and novices looking to improve performance, lose fat, gain muscle or build strength, the gym is upping its online presence.

"We help a lot of elite sailors and top and aspiring athletes from a number of sports and have such a brilliant community that when the River Hamble ended up in the gym we were back up and running in no time.

"But being where we are, we're geographically restricted to some extent. So as well as personal training and boot camp style group training, we're now coaching online.

"It works well for groups in work places needing to stretch and do more, we've been doing programmes for them, and anyone who just wants to get fit from their own home."

Unlike the large gym chains, there are no contracts at Pinnacle. It's open seven days a week from 6am weekdays and 8am on weekends.
