Fans of the Gladiators reboot don’t have long to wait for the second series and host Bradley Walsh and his son Barney have revealed what viewers can expect from the new episodes.
The series sees members of the public attempt physically and mentally tough challenges while trying to beat the Gladiators.
Here’s what fans can look forward to seeing in the new series.
Bradley Walsh, 64, revealed there will be some new events coming to the second series: “The new series is just fantastic, the Gladiators mean business and they are back tougher than before!
“There are some new events this series including the return of a fan favourite, and throughout the series lots of other exciting surprises. The contenders now have helmet cameras fitted – you might have seen from the celebrity special – so you can literally see what they are faced with when going up against the Gladiators.
“It’s a great new feature and brings a whole new dimension to what you see.”
Also teasing the new series, Barney, 27, said: “The Gladiators are back tougher, but so are the Contenders. This series the contenders are incredible, but the Gladiators are ready and bringing their A game.
“There are some great battles and exciting moments. There are some surprises this series, including some new games…”
New events coming to Gladiators series two
Bradley explained that producers are bringing back an event from the original series while Barney discussed the new game that viewers can look forward to.
Bradley said: “The producers have brought back an event from the original series, Atlaspheres, which fans of the original series will remember.
“The Contenders and Gladiators are inside huge metal hamster balls – the contenders need to roll themselves over set points in the arena to score points, whilst the Gladiators smash into them to try to stop them.”
Barney teased that more than one new event would be coming to the show: “One of the new games is called Unleash.

“The contenders start in a smoke-filled tunnel and race around a track and up some steps to grab the winning flag, but an unknown Gladiator is unleashed behind them trying to chase them down. You’re going to love it!”

Gladiators returns with series two airing on Saturday, January 18 at 5.50pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
