Doritos has teased that a huge change could be on the way for the beloved triangle crisps – can you guess what it might be?
It comes as the brand shared an image on Instagram of a square-shaped Dorito against a black background, along with the text: “The shape of things to come.”
But the mysterious post which is hinting the iconic triangle shape could soon be changed to a square has left Doritos fans confused (and panicking).

Commenting underneath Doritos' latest social media post, someone who has guessed the famous triangle snack could soon be transformed said: “Don’t mess up with my triangle!”
“Doritos without a [triangle symbol emoji] it isn't a Doritos,” added this person.
While another replied: “Not a good idea!"
One fan responded: “This ain’t April 1st, come on…”
This account exclaimed: “No!!!!”
A Doritos spokesperson said: “The news isn’t ready to be shared quite yet, but great to know how much interest there is in the shape of our chips.
“As you’ve now seen, Square Doritos are something we’re exploring and we’ll reveal more officially later this month.”
Discontinued UK Sweets/Chocolates
It comes as Doritos recently revealed the crisps now have “more crunch than ever before” thanks to an enhanced recipe.
With more corn added to the recipe, a fine-tuned cooking process and tweaked seasonings, Cool Original, Tangy Cheese and Chilli Heatwave are the “crunchiest Doritos yet”.

However, it seems this new recipe hasn’t pleased everyone, as one wrote: “Bring back the old recipe before you did the ‘bold crunch’ they gone down hill so much now won’t be buying anymore.”
“Noooo, you’ve already ruined them with this new ‘bolder crunch’,” commented this shopper.
