The associate dean for STEM at The Open University inspired female students at Oasis Academy Lord's Hill.
Last week, Dr Victoria Nicholas delivered a motivational presentation on her journey and the significance of female representation in STEM.
She highlighted the low percentage of 12 to 14-year-old girls considering STEM careers.
When asked about the visit, a student said: "It made me realise that I could make a real difference in business or society by choosing to study Science. I feel really motivated by this talk."
Assistant principal Jennie Cole said: "A fantastic morning giving a real insight into the need and opportunity for more women to consider STEM careers."
Dr Nicholas also presented the benefits of studying at The Open University.
The event concluded with a Q&A session encouraging students to explore STEM careers.
