Police are aware of unknown 'large pellets' that were dropped in a popular park loved by dog walkers, Hampshire Constabulary confirmed.
Officers said they received a report of suspicious incidents in the Hatch Grange area between December 1 and January 6.
The pellets, said to have been found along the park's dog walking trail, remain of an unknown substance.
Police asked anyone with more information or who witnessed anything suspicious to get in touch.
This comes after staff at West End Parish Council said they saw a person placing the unknown substance across Hatch Grange on New Year's Day.
A spokesperson for the council said: “Someone was seen placing an unknown substance throughout Hatch Grange.
“The items looked like large pellets.
“The incident is being reported but dog walkers and those walking with young children, please be extra vigilant."
