A teacher from Southampton competing in The Traitors stayed out of trouble in the last two episodes and managed to avoid being banished or ‘murdered.’

Players on the intense BBC reality series must work together as ‘faithfuls’ to eliminate unidentified ‘traitors’ before the end of the game, all while traitors ‘murder’ contestants overnight.

Joe, who is a faithful, has been involved in several heated arguments so far after falsely accusing Kas of being a ‘traitor.’

But in Thursday and Friday’s episode, Joe was uncharacteristically reserved, even joking during a tense Round Table meeting that he ‘had nothing to say for once.’

On January 9, barber Tyler was accused of smiling and smirking too much, and he was banished from the game despite being a faithful.

Traitors Minah and Linda forfeit their ‘murder’ to try to recruit Anna to the dark side, but she rejected their offer, saying that they were trying to ‘scapegoat’ her.

Tensions grew on Friday’s episode after a mission titled the Ceremony of Truth.

In the task, all contestants were given a shield that would protect them from the next ‘murder’, but the players could sabotage each other by working in pairs to mark who they did not want to be safe.

If the marked person guessed who they believed had chosen to sabotage them, they kept their shield, but if they were incorrect they would lose it.

At the end of the game, Dan, Charlotte and Linda each retained their shields while the contestants also added £5,000 to the prize pot, bringing the total to £34,500.

During the roundtable, bank risk manager Dan admitted he had lied to Frankie about not marking her when he did in fact select her with fellow faithful Alexander, which redirected the other contestants’ attention towards him.

They voted Dan off, losing another faithful in the process, but Southampton's Joe did manage to vote correctly by writing Linda on his board.

Before he departed, Dan told the other contestants: “This has been an absolute pleasure, and I’ve had a fantastic time. I am a faithful.”

Joe stayed out of trouble to survive both episodes and The Traitors resumes Wednesday January 15 at 9pm on BBC One.
