“The defendant then accused an officer of being on cocaine”, Ms Harvey added.

Ms Keely added that Glasspool denied biting the officer when she was interviewed, and claimed she was the one who was assaulted.

In his victim personal statement, which was read out in court, PC Thory described the attack as “unacceptable”.
After pleading guilty to one count of assault by beating an emergency worker, Glasspool said biting the officer was “impulsive” and a reaction to him taking hold of her arm.
Mitigating, Rebecca McKnight said Glasspool has important family ties, as she supports her mother who is in hospital, and her daughter who lives with her at home.
Speaking to Glasspool, Recorder Richard Tutt said: “You attacked a police officer with your teeth by biting him, which amounts to the use of a weapon in my view.”
She was handed a 12-month community order and must complete 10 rehabilitation activity requirement days and 40 hours of unpaid work.
She must also pay £250 compensation to PC Thory and a victim surcharge.
