Two men have been arrested in connection with drug offences after police stopped a car they thought was suspicious.

The black Hyundai was stopped by police at around 7.55pm on Andover Road in Winchester on Thursday, after officers noticed suspicious behaviour.

A quantity of suspected Class A drugs, cash, and two mobile phones were seized.

A 37-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and possession of criminal property.

During a subsequent search of his address, another man, a 36-year-old from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

Both remain in custody at this time.

The police have asked people to keep reporting any information about drug supply in their area.

A spokesperson said: "You are our eyes and ears on the ground, and information submitted helps us build up the bigger picture about what is going on so we can take the appropriate action."
