A diversion route more than 13 miles long has been set up as a stretch of road less than one-mile long in Romsey is set to hit by road works.
The Romsey by-pass and the connecting road, Mainstone, are set to be hit with road works authorised by Hampshire County Council later this month.
From Middlebridge Street to Palmerston Street, council highway teams will be undertaking improvement works and crack sealing for two days, from Thursday, January 23, to Saturday, January 25.
A full road closure will be required for the works to be completed.

Despite only working on a stretch of the road three-quarters of a mile long, a 13.4-mile diversion has been set up, taking drivers through Ashfield, Nursling and Maybush on the A3057, turning right at Tebourba Way in Shirley Park.
Motorists are then sent on Millbrook Road West, across the Redbridge Causeway and towards Ower on the A36, before turning onto the A3090, rejoining Mainstone.
