The New Forest was lathered in snow as flakes settled on the grass and covered wild animals roaming the roads.

While others in Southampton were being drenched in sleet, Daily Echo Camera Club member Hang Ross braved the cold in the New Forest and got their camera out to capture the best bits.

Hang caught horses and ponies being covered in snow, and saw a big downpour on paths while the roads stayed clear.

Snow was also seen in Brockenhurst, Hordle and Hedge End, but only in showers mixed with rain.

The weather experts still warn of disruption to travel for commuters heading back from work.

A spokesperson for the Met Office residents can expect: "Possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers.

"Possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel.

"Power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected."
