A meals-on-wheels service is urging people to keep moving and hydrated during the winter months.
Health & Independent Living Support (HILS), a not-for-profit organisation, delivers hot meals across Hampshire, 365 days a year.
HILS said all its meals are nutritionally balanced, with a wide range of options, including low-fat, reduced-sugar, and allergen-free meals.
Special dietary requirements, such as kosher, Asian, halal, and West Indian food, are also catered for.
Community team members, who are all DBS-checked, deliver the meals ready-to-eat and carry out a wellbeing check on each visit.
Meals can be ordered on a one-off basis, temporarily, or for as long as required.
The service delivers meals between 11.15am and 2.15pm daily.
A tea pack, including a sandwich or cream tea, dessert, and snack, can also be ordered and stored in the fridge for later.
As winter approaches, HILS advises people to keep moving to increase body temperature and boost health with micronutrients like vitamins C, B6, and E, zinc, and magnesium.
Hydration is also crucial, with water-rich beverages like hot chocolate or warm soup recommended.
