A primary school in the New Forest has closed for the day after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow in the region.
Hordle CE (VE) Primary School near Lymington closed on Wednesday morning – Hampshire County Council confirmed – citing a boiler failure as the reason for the closure.
Though the primary school is closed for the day the nursery on the same site remains open.
A spokesperson for the school said: "Due to both of our boilers failing overnight we are forced to close the school today. Nursery remains open.
"We apologise for the inconvenience. Further details will follow."
The school’s closure comes after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow in Southampton and the New Forest.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Met Office said: “A weather system may push snow into some southern counties of England on Wednesday, which could then prove disruptive.”
