Members of the public are told "do not worry" after a suspected unexploded bomb was found in a village.

At 11.19am on Friday, January 3, reports were made that there was a suspected unexploded ordnance inside a property on Canada Road, West Wellow.

The Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team attended the scene to carry out a controlled explosion and dispose of it.

In a Facebook Post, Hampshire Police said: "If you hear a loud bang in the West Wellow area this afternoon/evening, please do not worry.

"A controlled explosion will be carried out after a suspected unexploded ordnance was found inside a property in Canada Road today.

"This was reported at 11.19am today and the Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team has attended the scene to dispose of the item.

"All is in order and there is no wider concern around this incident."
