New Forest District Council helped bring 12 empty homes back into use last year.
The initiative is part of the council's ongoing strategy to reduce the number of vacant properties across the district.
This effort not only addresses housing needs but also mitigates the impact empty homes can have on communities.
Cllr Steve Davies, deputy leader of the council, and portfolio holder for housing and homelessness, said: "We’ve worked hard to make sure properties are not left empty for long periods.
"The 12 homes brought back into use this year have helped to meet needs in the private housing sector, mainly through private sale, and improve the quality of the immediate neighbourhood they are located in."
Residents are encouraged to report any empty properties to the council's private sector housing team.
Property owners unsure about how to reactivate their vacant homes can also seek guidance from the council.
