From some of the world's top stage musicals to the return of a successful live music festival launched in the city last year, there's lots to look forward to in Southampton in 2025. 

Everything from cultural phenomenon Hamilton to the world's favourite nanny Mary Poppins will grace the stage in the city, and Saints have a new man ready to attempt to keep them in the Premier League. 

Music icons including Rag'n'Bone Man, The Stranglers, McFly, The Human League and Simple Minds will appear at the second Southampton Summer Sessions festival, due to take place in Guildhall Square over several nights in June.

Saints fans can look forward to a new start for the new year under new boss Ivan Juric as they aim to turn around their relegation form and survive a first season back in the big time.

As well as the story of America's founding father Hamilton and Disney spectacular Mary Poppins, West End mega hit Tina, the musical based on legendary TV show Only Fools and Horses, international smash Six and the Peaky Blinders ballet will all take to the stage at Mayflower Theatre in 2025. 

Spitfire Girls, inspired by the extraordinary true stories of the women who dared to fly during WWII, will premiere at MAST Mayflower Studios in March. 

(Image: Art Asia) Southampton Mela Festival, a colourful celebration of culture which attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the city, is to expand in 2025. The largest free festival in the city will take place over two days for the first time next summer. 

Volunteers operating Southampton's historic steamship have unveiled the sailing programme for her 70th anniversary year in 2025. The ‘flags will be flying’ on SS Shieldhall’s for various special cruises and events.
