Lorries will be banned from driving along a new road in Stubbington, with another closed to vehicles altogether.
Hampshire County Council has passed an order banning driving along Oakcroft Lane.
It covers the stretch 135 metres west of the junction with May’s Lane and 35 metres west thereof.
The traffic order will also see a 7.5-tonne except for access weight limit introduced on the new road, The Poplars.

The council said the order is being imposed due to a new access road connecting Oakcroft Lane to Peak Lane, which includes physical measures that restrict access to the junction on Mays Lane.
It added The Poplars will become the main access to the latest development and the cemetery.
No objections were raised to the plan from the public or the police.
