Some of Southampton’s favourite cruise shipping" target="_blank">liners will be arriving and departing the city between now and the new year.
P&O’s Aurora arrived in the port of Southampton at 5.45am this morning and will welcome an influx of passengers who will be celebrating their Christmas at sea this year.
The ship will depart shortly after 5pm this evening as it embarks on a 16-day Christmas cruise of Spain and Portugal – with passengers able to sample life in the Canary Islands over the New Year.
Aurora will dock in in the likes of Vigo, Las Palmas, and Lisbon – before it arrives back in Southampton on January 6.
Cunard’s Queen Anne will set sail on its own Canary Islands Cruise tomorrow evening.

Lasting 14-days, holidaymakers will get to visit Lanzarote, Palma, and Madeira before disembarking in Southampton on January 5.
MSC Preziosa will depart Southampton for Hamburg, Germany, on December 27 as part of a seven-day round trip of Northern Europe – including visits to the Netherlands, France, and Belgium.
Iona will arrive in the south coast on the morning of December 28 before leaving later that evening for a cruise of the Canary Islands and Portugal.
Passengers will get to experience New Year’s Eve in Lisbon.
Queen Victoria will also depart Southampton on December 28 but will instead set sail for Zeebrugge in Belgium before an overnight stay in Amsterdam on a short break.
P&O’s Arcadia will sail from Southampton on December 29 and spend New Year’s Eve in Amsterdam before returning to Southampton via Zeebrugge.
Passengers will get to enjoy two days to explore the Dutch capital – famous for its canals, architecture, and nightlife.
Tourists are able to take canal cruises during the day and visit the likes of the Van Gogh Museum.
Ventura will escape the cold weather of Southampton on December 29 to spend New Year’s Eve in Hamburg before getting to spend New Year’s Day in one of Germany’s busiest ports.
The cruise ship will arrive back in Southampton on January 3, but not before stopping in Zeebrugge.
