A schoolgirl has won a Southampton MP’s Christmas card competition.
The design by Jaya, a year 6 pupil at Bitterne Park Primary School, was chosen from more than 900 entries.
Southampton Itchen MP Darren Paffey presented the certificate to her classmates on December 13.
Jaya's design, featuring a festive Bargate, was on the front of the MP’s card sent across the UK.
Darren said: "I was delighted with the response to my first Christmas card competition and to receive so many fantastic submissions. It’s clear that we’ve got so many fantastically creative children in the constituency and it was a real festive treat to see what they had come up with.
"Well-deserved congratulations to Jaya, Bella and Hano for their winning submissions, which stood out in a very large and competitive field.”
Runner-up designs by Bella from Valentine Primary School and Hano from Hope Community School are on the back.
The three children also received free tickets to the Jack and the Beanstalk panto at the Mayflower Theatre.
