A Fareham firm is planning for major growth and global expansion in 2025.
Barnbrook Systems, an engineering solutions provider, is aiming to enter new markets, including green hydrogen, aerospace, defence, fire and security, rail, and maritime.
In 2024, the company, which employs 50 people, relaunched at the Farnborough International Airshow, partnering with Farnborough Aerospace Consortium.
Managing director Andrew Barnett met Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the event.
The company’s stand attracted a record number of visitors and generated more business leads than before.
A notable development was the introduction of the E:BAG fire suppression system with another Fareham firm, Flair.
This system addresses the issue of exploding lithium-ion batteries in devices such as phones, vapes, e-scooters, e-bikes, and laptops.
E:BAG, which uses smart nanotechnology, is being trialled at TJ Waste & Recycling in Portsmouth on a larger scale as E:CRATE.
The system has also garnered interest from the maritime sector and major airlines.
Andrew Barnett, managing director, said: "This year marked the dawn of a new era at Barnbrook Systems with our corporate relaunch and repositioning as a global engineering solutions provider.
"It places us in perfect position for major growth and international expansion across Europe and the world in the year ahead, especially for the roll-out of E:BAG to help operators in multiple sectors manage the risk from lithium-ion batteries in a safe, efficient and compliant way.
"We are also involved in very progressive discussions with major players in the defence industry, including the UK Ministry of Defence, about E:BAG as well as airlines and the aerospace sector as a whole."
Barnbrook Systems has also collaborated with Protium, a green hydrogen company, to provide its Intelligent Internet of Things (IIOT) BlueCube remote sensing and monitoring technology.
Barnbrook Systems also agreed to a strategic partnership with Southampton-based UCR Group.
Barnbrook Systems has expanded its distribution base and secured substantial repeat business in 2024.
The company has also increased its commitment to the STEM agenda by funding science, engineering, and mathematics-themed Curiosity Boxes for primary schools in Hampshire.
Barnbrook Systems was founded in 1978 by the late Tony Barnett and remains family-owned.
