A New Forest charity has sent over 430 generators to Ukraine.
New Forest for Ukraine (NFFU), gathering support from Hampshire, Dorset, and further afield, is sending its 434th generator to the war-torn country for Christmas.
The team has also received 70 stoves to provide more essential heat and power to Ukraine, which continues to face attacks on its power infrastructure.
The country can experience temperatures as low as -20C.
John Allison, head of New Forest for Ukraine said: "Every single generator is a lifeline for families, a community or neighbourhood which, when an attack cuts power, will queue to power phones, torches, lamps or get sufficient for cooking or heating.
"All of us feel vulnerable in the dark, but even more so if you are under attack or left without power for hours and days while the authorities struggle to restore infrastructure which the Russians will carry on trying to destroy.
"Thank you to everyone who has helped us so far send over 430 generators to Ukraine. So we appeal to anyone who can to be prepared to donate to us to purchase generators or who can bring us a usable generator which they don’t need. Every generator can be vital to people on the ground in Ukraine."
NFFU ensures the generators reach the communities that need them most through a network of verified teams on the ground.
Many recipients send back individual photos and thanks to the NFFU and its supporters. The NFFU's efforts are vital as Ukraine continues to face power shortages amidst ongoing conflict.
