Karaoke fans are being invited to sing their hearts out for charity.
Alston House Care Home, in Leigh Road, Eastleigh, is hosting a Christmas karaoke party to raise money for Sophie's Legacy.
This takes place on Wednesday, December 18. The care home is encouraging the community to join in between 3pm and 5pm.
Resident Eunice Paris, 85, said: "Many of us here at Alston House are parents, grandparents and even great-grandparents, and we know what it is like to have poorly children.
"However, if your child goes into hospital, it is very stressful, so we wanted to support this amazing charity."
Alston House community relations manager Kieran Hogan said: "We chose to support Sophie's Legacy because we have a lot of intergenerational activities with our local pre and primary schools. Our residents really enjoy children visiting the home, and many have been parents, grandparents and great-grandparents.
"As such, supporting a charity which, in turn, supports our younger generation seems to fit nicely. "Equally, Sophie's Legacy is all about changing the standards of a child and their family's experience in a health and care setting. Similarly, so is Hamberley's vision of what life in a care home for residents and their families should be. That’s why we have luxury facilities, our holistic homemaker model and enhanced resident experience.
"This festive event is the Christmas edition of the home karaoke afternoons, which residents at Alston House enjoy throughout the year. The residents and staff really enjoy singing together, so we want to open our doors to the wider public for the December session. We look forward to welcoming everyone to join our event, where they can enjoy singing and great company."
Sophie's Legacy is a local charity providing support to families with children in hospital. The funds raised will go towards helping the charity continue its work.
The afternoon will feature a professional karaoke setup, and guests can also enjoy some festive treats. These include mince pies, mulled wine, and bar snacks.
The home will also be launching its own Alston House Christmas Cocktail for the occasion.
