STAFF at a Romsey pub have thanked members of the public for their help in fundraising.
The fundraising took place throughout October, with a total of £6,000 being raised for the pub’s chosen charities through a mix of challenges and donations.
John Hind, of the Romsey Old Cadets, raised £2,500 as he braved the shave by shaving off his hair, eyebrows and beard. Fellow Old Cadets member Martin Drake, also donated £100.
The Romsey Old Cadets then raised a further £1,300 supporting the cause by dressing in pink and heading to the pubs and streets of the town before giving a performance in the town square.
In total, the group raised £3,900 which has been donated to Breast Cancer Now.
Meanwhile, staff at The Star Inn raised £2,100, which has been split between Jane Scarth House, Forca Strength Against Cancer, and Maggie’s at Southampton Hospital.
Sharon Conduct, from the Star, in the Horsefair, said: “I would also like to thank all of the kind people of Romsey who have donated and supported this fundraiser!
“You're all amazing and we couldn't have done it without you. Your support has been second to none we really appreciate everyone helping us to achieve a grand total of £6,000 for our chosen charities.”
