A South Coast disability football club's Christmas party was saved by a late sponsor.

Hamble Pan Disability F.C. held their festive celebration on December 6 at Bitterne Royal British Legion Club, Southampton.

The party was at risk of being cancelled after the original sponsor pulled out.

However, Shedfield-based Silverlake Automotive Recycling stepped in to fund the event for more than 100 people, including players aged eight to 16, along with their parents and carers.

Dave Parsons, pan disability secretary at Hamble Pan Disability F.C. said: "We are incredibly grateful to Silverlake, firstly for their kit sponsorship and secondly for saving the day by funding the Christmas Party. It would have been a huge disappointment for everyone if we had needed to cancel."

Hamble Pan Disability F.C. is the biggest disability team on the South Coast with eight teams and 98 players ranging in age from eight to 52.
